Customs Compliance, Import/Export Officer

What you will do

Are you passionate about international trade and logistics? Are you interested in working in a company which is building the future? Do you have experience in coordinating, analysing and improving import and export processes? Do you want to join a team that is responsible for all exports and imports of a company of about 6000 people? We are seeking a hands-on, structured, and energetic colleague.

  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and coordinate transport from suppliers and freight forwarders1.
  • Control costs and verify transport-related invoices, resolving any discrepancies1.
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all imports and exports using data from SAP and couriers1.
  • Collaborate with the Export Control team to ensure all export shipments comply with applicable laws and regulations1.
  • Ensure smooth customs clearance of all parcel shipments and maintain valid customs documents1.
  • Act as backup for the Shipping Department Team Lead and shipping team for crucial tasks for daily operations

Who you are

  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
    Relevant work experience and in-depth knowledge of customs legislation and logistics processes (road and air freight).
  • Excellent knowledge of international trade and customs regulations, especially in the EU and US markets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional team.Building a strong network is imperatieve in this job.
  • Fluent in Dutch/English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI and experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and propose improvements.
  • Customer-oriented and quality-focused.
