Analog Circuit Researcher

Your chance to go beyond the state-of-the-art and drive innovation in custom Analog IC Design for next-generation power-efficient electronic systems!

Who we are

Imec offers you a place to deploy your talents. We are performing advanced research in several high-end applications, where the development of state-of-the-art integrated circuits is a key enabler. Our projects are executed in close collaboration with industry partners and often cover the complete field from applications to architecture concepts, circuit specs, down to final implementation and demonstration. We are also very involved and visible in the scientific and academic community, engage PhD students in our research, and publish our results in top conferences and journals, allowing our researchers to grow in their career and collaborate with other institutes.

To help push the frontiers of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, we are looking for a new colleague to join our research team. Our work spans multiple application domains, including powering the future AI GPUs, health and life sciences for implantable devices and other emerging low-power electronic applications.

What you will do

As an Analog Circuit Researcher, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Perform research and design innovative, high-performance integrated circuits for advanced analog and mixed-signal systems. Research topics may include power management circuits, sensor interfaces, data converters, precision analog circuits, high-voltage building blocks, and other energy-efficient circuit solutions. Together with the team, you bring new ideas and new technical methods to life.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate system requirements into robust integrated-circuit implementations.
  • Interacting technically with external partners as part of an existing collaboration or towards new partners.
  • Publishing your state-of-the-art research results in international conferences and journals.

What we do for you

By joining imec in Eindhoven, you will be part of a team of disruptive innovators and thinkers. We invite you to be part of our ambitious team where your ideas will have an impact on our society and our future lives. Imec The Netherlands, as an employer of choice, offers you an attractive compensation and benefits package including a 100% employer-paid pension plan and flexible working hours. Furthermore, imec-NL offers a wide range of training possibilities. For international candidates, we provide support in the relocation process.

Who you are

  • PhD or Msc in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in analog and/or mixed-signal integrated-circuit design.
  • Strong experience in analog IC design (design, layout and verification).
  • Solid understanding of transistors, circuits, architectures, control loops and signal integrity.
  • Experience with Cadence IC6 and signoff tools (like Calibre) is a must.
  • Experience with CMOS is a must.
  • Experience with multiple tape-outs is preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered a strong plus: power management circuits (DC-DC converters, LDOs, etc), sensor interfaces, data converters, or high-voltage design.
  • You come up with new technical methods, ideas and concepts which bring significant impact on our research to define and implement next-generation best-in-class analog designs.
  • You are passionate about research and innovation and thrive both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and experts across international, multidisciplinary teams.
  • You demonstrate strong communication and reporting skills, clearly presenting technical decisions and outcomes in English (both written and spoken).
  • You are committed to expand your scientific network and are willing to mentor students and supervise PhD candidates.
