Facility Manager
What you will do
The
FAIN (Facilities and Infrastructure) has the mandate to develop, manage,
maintain and operate buildings and facilities occupied by imec activities.
As a
Site FM Manager you report to the FAIN Ops Director and you play a key role in managing,
maintaining, operating and improving the imec building portofio in Leuven by:
- Managing the relationships with relevant business owners (internal customers) within the site to ensure that needs are documented and delivered upon, by agreeing on targets, organizing regular follow-ups and adapting if necessary
- Ensuring that each building & its installations are well managed throughout the lifecycle by proper maintenance, repairs & improvements/innovations according to the applicable regulations, imec’s ambitions & industry standard. All this, to ensure a safe, sustainable, continuous and functional environment for the company, employees and visitors.
- Always acting with the core imec activities (cleanroom, laboratories, …) in mind, both during operations, unplanned outages as well as planned shutdowns.
- Being responsible for the sourcing (with Procurement support) as well as the implementation, management and coordination of external suppliers at unit level. This includes the evaluation of supplier contracts in accordance with the internal governance structure to constantly improve quality/cost ratio.
- Owning the technical documentation of the buildings and their installations, as well as the specs on hard and soft services.
- Responsible for the end to end financial processes for the activities and services under the scope of the role: long term financial planning, annual budget preparation, forecasting, spend management and reporting.
- Leading and inspiring a team of internal and external FM professionals; do this by creating a safe, inclusive and diverse environment where the imec culture is strong. Be the ambassador of change in your team.
- Being responsible for developing the team's competencies and performance and for succession planning in the unit

Who you are
- You have a bachelor's or master degree (or equivalent by practice), preferably in a technical or FM related discipline. You have an analytical mind, and you have a good understanding of financial & project management (practical experience in project management is a plus).
- You are open and accessible, and you go easy on social contacts. You are an inspirational team player with proven leadership experience (eg. change management, self-leadership, ability to create a safe, structured & stable workplace, …)
- You are service minded & customer oriented, hands-on and you ‘see work’ with a strong will to improve; you are proactive, stress resistant, you show a high degree of autonomy and take initiative within the framework of your role
- Your understanding, speaking & writing of Dutch & English is fluent
- Strong skills in digital solutions like Microsoft Office and collaboration‑tool, CAFM/FMIS tools, SAP, … are a must — and you’re eager to keep learning.
