Senior Biomedical Engineer 

We need you as a Senior Biomedical Engineer to be part of our interdisciplinary team to investigate technologies that can be used for creating innovative health solutions. In this team, you will work next to biomedical, biochemical, electrical, software engineers and data scientists. As a key contributor, you'll engage in cutting-edge research activities focused on developing foundational components for our platforms, specifically targeting gut health and nutrition.

What you will do

  • You contribute to the research activities for creating building blocks for our platforms related to preventative health in the domains of gut health and nutrition. 
  • In cooperation with customers, partners, and engineers from different disciplines, you combine cutting-edge research results with state-of-the-art components in multi-disciplinary R&D projects from prototyping and exploration to implementation and validation in real-life or clinical studies. 
  • Interact with customers and/or external stakeholders to align on system requirements and periodical progress meetings. 
  • Translate ideas into tangible concepts and execute proof of concept studies. 
  • Possibility to take lead in small to medium sized (1 to 4 people) projects.  
  • Share knowledge with the team, document, provide technical guidance, and help driving the technical roadmap in the area of preventive health. 
  • Deliver high quality output, in a timely fashion, and in line with requirements. 
  • Your work is disseminated as inventions, publications, key technology or directly to customers.

Who you are

  • PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biophysics, photonics or similar. 
  • 3-5+ years after PhD developing and/or using technology in health-related research. 
  • You like technical challenges and are inspired by them. 
  • With your hands-on attitude and practical mindset, you take responsibility for the complete process from specification to implementation, testing and debugging, including communication and alignment with different stakeholders. 
  • A clear goal getter, even in ambiguous research processes. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). 
  • A flexible and agile team player, actively helping other team members. 
  • You see changes as an opportunity to learn and grow. 
  • Quick learner, able and interested in acquiring new skills and competences. 
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge of physiology. 
  • Affiliation with biomedical applications, and/or photonics.
