Process Engineer Dry Etch

What you will do

  • Drive the etch process development in several projects. 
  • You will support daily process engineering activities in both 200mm/300mm cleanrooms in close collaboration with Hardware, Operations and Integration teams.  
  • Being and acting as a dry etch and strip tool owner focusing on safety, quality, cycle time, cost and sustainability.  
  • You contribute to the process stability, process improvements, problem prevention and for the introduction of new processes. 
  • You will troubleshoot issues, focus on root cause analysis and long-term solutions by applying standard methodologies (8D, FMEA…) 
  • Thinking ahead and participating in the definition of the Fab Engineering roadmap. 
  • You are willing to work in an early-late regime with one weekend out of four.

Who you are

  • You obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, (Industrial) Engineering in Electronics or equal by experience and display strong engineering skills and mindset.
  • Experience in process engineering is nice to have but young graduates are encouraged to apply as well.   
  • You like to take ownership, you are well organized, with a good attention to detail and you set high standards for quality.
  • As you will work in cross functional teams, strong communication and reporting skills are required. You are a team player with a strong drive to share your experience and knowledge with colleagues. You strive to document and report your work to highest quality standards.
  • You are able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • You have a methodical and insightful approach to problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
