IMC Hardware Engineer 

What you will do

You will be a member of the IMC group which is responsible for the metrology and inspection equipment that gives insight and understanding of wafers going through the semiconductor manufacturing process.  The highly sensitive equipment requires maintenance and hardware troubleshooting during issues to return equipment back to an operating state. 

As a hardware engineer in IMC you will have various duties and functions: 

  • You will be in charge of the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair and optimization of metrology equipment.   
  • Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to set up improvement projects which you will evaluate. 
  • Look for opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reduce the cost of ownership without impacting quality or availability. 
  • Be the main point of contact for technical questions regarding metrology equipment and perform initial analyses as needed to answer any questions. 
  • Help install new metrology equipment and work with the technical warehouse to ensure spare parts and consumables are properly stocked. 
  • Collaborate closely with metrology process engineers to diagnose and resolve measurement issues. 
  • Help make sure measurement data gets properly stored in designated locations for customers. 
  • You will work in two shifts (early/late) including one weekend out of three (Sa/Su), to support the 24h by 7d fab.

Who you are

  • You obtained a Master in Science or Engineering or equal by experience and display strong engineering skills and mindset. 
  • Experience in a FAB environment is a strong asset. 
  • You are data driven and seek out information before making decisions and taking action. 
  • You like to work autonomously, well organized, with good attention to detail and set high standards for quality. 
  • You speak fluent English. 
  • As you will work in cross functional teams, strong communication and reporting skills are required. You are a team player with strong drive to share your expertise and knowledge with colleagues. You strive to document and report.
