Create Interactive Tech Showcases

What you will do

At OnePlanet Research Center, we develop state-of-the-art technologies that contribute to a sustainable future. To showcase our innovations at trade fairs, exhibitions, and in our experience center, we are looking for a student to design and build a demonstrator for a new product or technology.

The goal? To inspire visitors by letting them see, hear, smell, and feel what our innovations can bring. You will design demonstrators and physical models that effectively communicate our technology in an engaging and interactive way, aligned with our brand identity.

What you’ll do:

  • Background research: Understand how the technology works, its application domain, and identify the target audience(s) who would be interested in the product or technology.
  • Concept development: Generate creative ideas for how to communicate the message in an engaging way. Consider both practical and functional aspects in your design choices.
  • Prototype and build: Translate your concept into a physical working demonstrator. This includes integrating design, software, electronics, and hardware — combining creativity with technical expertise.

Who you are

We’re looking for motivated students who bring enthusiasm and curiosity to our team. You’re an ideal candidate if you:

  • Are currently enrolled in a BSc or MSc program (HBO or WO) at a Dutch educational institution.
  • Are studying Industrial (Product) Design, Creative Technology, Communication and Multimedia Design, or a related field.
  • Have a solid understanding of design principles and digital design.
  • Have experience with 3D CAD modelling and a basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Are up to date with the latest design trends and enjoy sharing your insights to inspire the team.
  • Have a design portfolio with beautiful and relevant designs.
  • Are available for an internship of at least 6 months.
