In this project, we are exploring the efficiency, and selectivity of stimulation waveforms by analyzing them in the frequency domain. The study's findings will be validated with a prototype stimulator and in-vivo verification.

What you will do

  • Literature study on electrical stimulators and stimuli shapes
  • Modelling and comparison of different waveforms for electrical stimulation
  • Designing a setup to test the stimulation waveforms.
  • In-vivo/in-vitro measurements to verify the result

As one of the world-class research institutes, we are the center of excellence in nano-electronics design for the Internet of Things and Healthcare applications. In this internship project, you will be working on a cutting-edge research project, under the supervision of world-class researchers from diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, you also get the opportunity to do hands-on experiments with in-vivo experiments.

Who you are

  • You are an MSc student in Electronics/Biomedical Engineering.
  • You are available for at least 8 months.
  • You have an understanding of neurophysiology and are willing to do in-vivo studies in simple neural models (most probably earthworms).
  • You have knowledge of electrical circuit design with off-chip components as well as PCB design.
  • You are Familiar with the basics of signal processing and capable of working with MATLAB or Python.
  • You are entitled to do an internship in the Netherlands.
  • You are a self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Good written and verbal English skills.
