Process Operator

Embracing a better life

Are you looking for a technical job that helps create greater value? That literally makes the world a better place? Well, then you might get lucky. Imec is giving you that opportunity. ‘Embracing a better life’ is our motto. Not just a slogan but a true and solid day-to-day ambition. We are dedicated to creating a better future. Moreover, we create and shape that future. Together. With 6000 collaborators of more than 100 different nationalities all bound by the firm belief that technology can and will improve our lives.
Our contribution is small. Literally speaking: our field of expertise is nanoelectronics. But the impact of that is huge. The chip technology we are working on is being put to good use in high-tech solutions for better health care, safer transportation, sustainable energy… to name a few. A better world starts with new technology. And new technology begins in our cleanroom.
Which brings us back to you. Because no matter how advanced our technology and devices are, they are useless without the right, skilled hands to handle them. We are looking for a process operator.

We guarantee that you won’t be bored

As a process operator, you have several responsibilities:

  • You will receive an intensive training before coordinating and operating high-end devices in the clean room.
  • You organize your own workload according to defined goals.
  • You are responsible for the quality of your own processing.
  • You perform quality tests meticulously.
  • You accurately report problems to our engineers.
  • You have a keen eye for safety and operational efficiency.
  • You suggest improvements.

What’s in it for you?

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will define the society of tomorrow.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. We commit to supporting and guiding you in this process; not only with words but also with tangible actions. Through imec.academy, 'our corporate university', we actively invest in your development to further your technical and personal growth.

We are aware that your valuable contribution makes imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of a market-based salary with many fringe benefits.

Who are we looking for?

Well, an enthusiastic personality and a passion for technology already go a long way. You are hands-on, full of expectation and eager to prove yourself. You enjoy working in a team, are accurate, dare to take initiative and are not afraid of asking questions. You have fluent communication skills in English. You are not looking for a typical nine-to-five and you see the advantages of working in shifts every now and again — handsome bonusses and lots of quality time on your hands while others are ‘insanely busy’. An example of our shift regime:

  • Week X: You will work the early shift from Monday to Friday.
  • Week X+1: You work the night shift from Monday to Friday.
  • Week X+2: You work the late shift from Monday to Wednesday, on Thursday and Friday you have recuperation and on Saturday and Sunday you work 12h.
  • Week X+3: From Monday to Wednesday you have recuperation and on Thursday and Friday you work in the late shift.
  • Week X: You work from Monday to Friday in the early shift.
