Process Assistant – Metrology 

What you will do

As a Process Assistant in the Metrology team, you’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge semiconductor machines inside imec’s cleanroom. You’ll help keep our tools running, improve processes, and make sure everything runs smoothly in a 24/7 high-tech fab.

Imec drives semiconductor innovation by developing advanced device concepts and production methods for future electronics. Process assistants are essential across production, process development, and device teams. 

! Important notice: our fab runs 24/7 and so will you! You are willing to work in a 24/7 system (early/late/nights differing per week, and 1 weekend out of 4)

Your responsibilities

Keep the fab running 

  • Make sure inspection & metrology tools are ready to go every day
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to fix issues fast 
  • Spot problems early and take action before they escalate 
  • Help improve how we work and make processes smarter 

Work with high-tech tools & recipes 

  • Set up, adjust, and improve tool recipes (aka how the machines run) 
  • Solve technical issues and inconsistencies 
  • Support testing, calibration, and quality checks 
  • Dive into data to see how things can be improved 

Teamwork & learning 

  • Team up with operators, engineers, and First Line Support on a daily basis 
  • Learn on the job and build real technical expertise 
  • Share knowledge and help new colleagues get started 
  • Be part of a team that supports each other and gets things done

Who you are

  • You hold a bachelor in chemistry, Physics, Electronics, Electromechanics, or similar industrial experience  
  • Eager to learn and self-organized
