Senior Cloud Software Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer at OnePlanet Research Center (OnePlanet) you will be developing web applications and data-centric solutions to enable the collection of high-quality data and translate sensor/IoT data into actionable insights. At OnePlanet we dream of a healthy and sustainable life on our planet by applying disruptive technology in the domains of Health, Agri, Food and Environment. What you will do

We need you as a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to be part of our multidisciplinary team to develop digital enabling solutions for researchers such as sensor data storage and processing solutions, web applications and dashboards. 

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Work on innovative prototypes and proof of concepts to explore new applications of sensor and digital technology.  
  • Interact with physical sensors and other on-premises hardware connected to Azure, using your expertise to develop and implement solutions. 
  • Gather requirements from researchers and data scientists and analyse these to determine their real needs and solve their problems by pragmatically working on solutions. 
  • Support and accelerate the Research & Development process. 
  • Develop software in an Azure / .NET stack and use Azure DevOps to document features and review code of your colleagues. 
  • Facilitate and oversee the provisioning and management of infrastructure and deployments through the utilization of infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Collaborate with other developers, architects, Scrum masters and Product Owners in Agile product teams. 
  • Grow, develop and further professionalize the team from a technical viewpoint.

You will be working in the solutions department in OnePlanet in the cloud software team. The solutions department consists of ~30 people working on software and hardware enabling research on sensor technology and development of innovative sensor products.

OnePlanet has offices in Nijmegen and Wageningen. You will work hybrid, mainly from the Wageningen office and from home.

Who you are

  • A master's degree from a university or university of applied science is required; with 5+ years of working experience. (We are also open for bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience). 
  • Having hands-on proficiency in .NET, and Microsoft Azure is a must. 
  • Exhibit expertise in C# and TypeScript, coupled with practical experience in Angular, React, or Vue (experience in Angular is a plus). Alternatively, familiarity with a comparable technology stack and a willingness to learn ours is welcomed. 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, Terraform, GitOps and Kubernetes is a plus. 
  • Display curiosity, adaptability, a results-driven mindset, and a pragmatic approach. 
  • You’re fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
