Metrology Data Automation Engineer

Context

IMEC performs world-leading research in nano-electronics. Imec leverages its scientific knowledge with the innovative power of its global partnerships in ICT, healthcare, and energy. Imec delivers industry-relevant technology solutions. In a unique high-tech environment, its international top talent is committed to providing the building blocks for a better life in a sustainable society. Imec is headquartered in Leuven (Belgium) and has offices in the Netherlands, Taiwan, US, China, Japan, and India. Its staff of more than 5000 people from over 95 nationalities includes over 750 industrial residents and guest researchers.

As a research institute, metrology data and knowledge is the bread and butter of Imec, hence the faster we can run our products through the metrology steps, the faster we can generate knowledge. With this newly created role, we aim to significantly automate the metrology recipe set-up and data validation.

What you will do

You will join the Metrology group within IMEC’s FAB Engineering Department, to support the advancement of metrology automation. Your work will contribute to decreasing the metrology turnaround time and increasing our overall learning speed, more specifically you will:

  • be the first point of contact in case of data related issues, and supporting change management actions (communication, training, go live support).
  • be responsible for all metrology data related activities within the FABENG department, including  product data, tool data, remote access, data transfer, data security, FDC, etc.
  • push the automation of metrology flows by automating new recipe creations and validations, data integrity validations and final specification compliance checks using conventional algorithms and/or machine learning.
  • co-design the architecture and way of working of our metrology flows of the future, in collaboration with the tool owner, the customers and the equipment automation team.
  • prepare, coordinate and execute data automation tests and roll-outs together with the stakeholders, typically the tool owners, the equipment integration specialist, tool suppliers, ICT, operators and customers.
  • be responsible for all tool performance data (via FDC, E3, tool scripts, SPC, etc.). This includes setting up automated data flows to support the metrology engineering team in their day to day performance.

What we do for you

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium.
