Symposium 'big data in health and care'

21 oktober 2021 | Campus Diepenbeek

The Symposium is organised as a prologue to the awarding ceremony of the honorary doctorate degree of Dipak Kalra, president of The European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) who plays a leading international role in research and development of Electronic Health Records.

Different topics ranging from the use of artificial intelligence in oncology to the use of medical or rehabilitation apps will be introduced and discussed by experts who will provide a comprehensive summary of their work achieved at UHasselt. Following several lightning talks, an industry specialist will moderate a panel discussion with scientists, clinicians and a patient ambassador to deepen the topic of big data in health and care.

Target audience: everybody is welcome at the Symposium, but we specifically target PI’s, Post-Docs, PhD and Master students of the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences and Faculty of Sciences, with a specific interest in healthcare.
