Privacy statement imec.digimeter

This survey aims to gain insight into the extent of digitalisation in Flanders. This survey is conducted by imec vzw and Ghent University, who are responsible for processing your personal details.

This survey is conducted in collaboration with the Vlaams Agentschap Inburgering en Integratie (Flemish civic and social integration agency), AMAL and Atlas.

You can choose to participate or not to participate in this survey. Participation is voluntary.

What data do we collect?

For this survey, we will be processing the following personal data: 

  • Identification details (e.g. your name, first name, sex, age, postal code, family situation, citizenship, language, ...)
  • Contact details (e.g. your address, email address, telephone number, ...)
  • Financial information (e.g. your household income, ...), 
  • Professional data (e.g. occupation, training, education, degrees, , ...) 
  • Information on your practices and habits (user experience, purchasing habits, , ...)

Imec may use the collected data in pseudonymised form for further scientific research that aligns with the purposes for which you have given consent. The pseudonymised information is stored for up to 5 years after collection.

Who has access to your personal information?

The imec and Ghent University researchers only have access to the personal data required to execute their task within the planned research.

This survey is conducted in collaboration with the Vlaams Agentschap Inburgering en Integratie, AMAL and Atlas. For this purpose appropriate contracts were concluded. Your personal data may be shared in a pseudonymised form with the Vlaams Agentschap Inburgering en Integratie, AMAL and Atlas. This means they cannot relate the data to you without additional information. This additional information remains with Imec/UGent and will not be shared.

If we collaborate with a party outside the European Economic Area (EEA), imec will ensure that your information is adequately protected under any circumstance and only shared with countries, organisations or sectors ensuring equivalent protection.

Your rights

We collect your information in accordance with your consent. This means you have the right to terminate your participation at any time without having to give a reason. You can also ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we have collected. You can have your information stored in our files corrected or deleted.
