ICT Service Owner – Data 

Context

Imec is looking for an ICT Service Owner to own and manage all ICT Services in the data domain. This includes the PowerBi reporting environment, the data platform on Azure (still relatively new), the SAS platform (deprecated, but still very relevant for the next years), and some other services in data landscape in the future. 

You will be part of the Data & Integration team, which provides the necessary services to the Imec community when it comes to reporting, integration of applications, and anything related to data science and analytics. The services are used by the Imec supporting departments like finance, HR, ... but also by the large R&D community of Imec. 

The service owner is the first point of contact for the platforms which are offered to the community. He manages the external partners that build, manage, and support the platforms and the functional content on it. He drives the internal user community and makes sure that the services are findable, usable, useful and used. He coordinates projects on the platforms in scope, makes sure to balance internal demand with partner capacity, manages the support given by the partners on the services, ...

Service owners collaborate intensively with their IT colleagues: architects, solution engineers, functional analysts, business experts, business partners, IT project managers, ...

What you will do

Responsibilities include:

  • Take the initiative to create / improve service level agreements for the ICT services you own, to manage the expectations towards internal stakeholders and to manage the external partner providing the service.
  • Ensure service delivery as agreed 
  • Platform lifecycle execution – with exception of big upgrades which are handled in project mode
  • Platform / service document management and knowledge management
  • Managing partners / internal resources delivering the platform support services – including service management routines
  • Managing software / hardware vendors and licenses, license optimization
  • Managing the operational budget – including optimization exercises
  • Managing support contracts – including follow up of scope, penalties, ...
  • Transition (receiver) of project inflow and central document management
  • Release / change management
  • (Key) user guidance – including knowledge and gap closing
  • Performance management in collaboration with infrastructure support team
  • Small demand management and the operational follow up of platform changes
  • Incident management / service management – including shift left and service improvement plans. High level trouble shooting and incident analysis, coordination of incident resolution. 
  • Report out on service achievement
  • Single point of contact for the services
  • High level demand analysis and routing of demand to the right person or partner
  • Insight in functionality and operation of the services, some basic hands-on experience to gain insight

You will:

  • Be part of the Data and integration team within the ICT department and work in close collaboration with your team members, other ICT teams and business departments
  • Build up a network within ICT and Imec 
  • Build up functional knowledge on how the Data and integration services work, understand the relevant business processes and help them improve

Who you are

  • You have at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or information technology. You have proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an IT environment.
  • You have experience within an IT Service Management role conducting development of Information Technology processes, information flow, associated reports, and applications for the data and integration service domain
  • You are able to work independently and in team. With your no-nonsense attitude, you coordinate partners and stakeholders to get the job done.
  • As an experienced Service Delivery Manager, you are a communication superstar, building strong relationships with stakeholders from different imec business units and with national/international suppliers. With your strong verbal and written communication skills you work effectively with technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization
  • You have an open mind and a fluent knowledge of both Dutch and English.
  • You feel comfortable in a complex and demanding environment.
  • You have experience with tooling in the data and integration domain, preferably PowerBI, Azure platform tooling (like Data factory, Databricks, ...), SAS, or other data engineering and data science tools. 
  • Experience with Office 365 applications (e.g. MS Teams, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate), ServiceNow and Azure DevOps are an important plus.
  • ITIL knowledge and/or certification is a plus
