Project Manager (Consultant)

We are looking for an experienced (assistant) Project Manager to join our team in Leuven, to support the development of a radically innovative testing solution for airborne infectious diseases, such as SARS-CoV-2. You will be responsible for one or more sub-projects in the overall product development project, such as the development of a specific proof-of-concept setup or a study for a strategic partner. You are able to understand the technical language of medical product development but always focus on the planning and organization aspects of the discussion. Switching from hands-on tasks, such as writing a small report or ordering supplies, to strategic long term planning comes natural to you.

Project Manager (Consultant)
The assignment
- Interact with all team members to ensure you have all the information you need to plan your projects.
- Maintain a clear overview of ongoing activities and be ready to report on the status at all times.
- Identify issues early on, always being one step ahead instead staying in reaction modus.
- Manage time effectively according to aggressive project schedules.
- Quickly adapt to new project requirements and effectively manage changing requests.
Required knowledge and skills
- 3+ years of experience in planning and coordinating projects in medical product development.
- Experience with IVD product development is a strong bonus.
- A technical background in molecular diagnostics, optics, physics, engineering or similar is a strong bonus.
- Both hands-on mentality and planning capabilities are required.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
- Immediate availability to come and work at the Imec facilities in Leuven is a strong bonus.
