Project Leader Access to the 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL)

Engineering - Leuven | More than two weeks ago

At imec, we are looking for a Project Leader to enable access to the 2D Pilot Line. Join us in shaping the future of photonics and electronics with cutting-edge 2D materials.

Project Leader Access to the 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL)

2D Pilot Line (2D-PL)

The 2D-Pilot Line (2D-PL) project aims to strengthen the European ecosystem in the development of integration modules for photonics and electronics prototyping services. Building on the foundations of the 2D- Pilot Line project (2D-PL), which pioneered the integration of 2D materials in semiconductors, this four-year initiative will refine the technologies and facilitate industrial adoption. The 2D-PL will provide comprehensive prototyping services for incorporating graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) into established silicon-based semiconductor platforms.

A key objective of the 2D-PL is to optimize 2D material fabrication in an industrially relevant FAB environment. The project focuses on the development of photonic and electronic devices and circuits serving academic institutions, research centres, SMEs, large businesses, IDMs and foundries. As part of this effort, the 2D-PL will enable access to multi-project wafer (MPW) offerings both graphene and TMDC devices for photonic and electronic applications.

What you will do

  • As a Project Leader, you will be responsible for implementing the strategy for external access to the 2DPL, advocating for the 2DPL services, and continuous follow-up of requests for access to the pilot line.
  • You will collaborate in building relationships between design tool vendors, design & IP houses and the European designer ecosystem. This will include building connections with the EU Design Platform and the competence centers in the various EU member states. Your open communication, enthusiasm and drive will be key to create a strong network and reach your goals.
  • You will be advocating the 2DPL services offer towards European SMEs, startups and academia, also in close collaboration with the Europractice program.
  • You will seek for constant improvements of both the quality and speed of our innovations and services. We will count on you to bring new ideas and help implementing them.
