Project Lead Environmental Sensing

What you will do

OnePlanet is a dynamic research organization with the mission to tackle real-world problems. We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague with experience in leading projects and a strong interest in air quality. Our goal is to develop sensing tools and networks to monitor air quality and enable actionable insights for industries and society to preserve the environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, consisting of researchers and engineers from diverse backgrounds such as sensor technology and algorithm development.

We need you to be part of our team to: 

  • Coordinate and manage various funded projects on air quality monitoring.
  • Interpret and translate our scientific results to reporting for funding agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Connect with international and national research partners in the environmental domain.
  • Contribute to the R&D roadmap for the development and deployment of sensor technologies.
  • Depending on your profile you can also contribute to a wide variety of technical domain knowledge topics ranging from air sensor technology to data analysis or water quality monitoring.

Who you are

  • Good communication skills, ability to translate and/or summarize technical/scientific content into plain language and vice versa.
  • MSc or PhD degree in Environmental sciences or a related domain.
  • Experience in managing a variety of smaller projects with multiple members and multiple stakeholders, in particular funded projects.
  • Experience in or affinity with the environmental monitoring domain is a big plus.
  • Skills to interpret data from sensors and self-reliance in preparing reports.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, knowledge of the Dutch language is a big plus.
