Process Assistant Wet Coatings (temorary assignment)
You are responsible for the deposition of wet coatings, including the chemical formulation that precedes this. The controlled drying of these coatings and their physical characterization are also part of the job description. You will work in close collaboration with the responsible researchers and engineers, who will coach and guide you in your daily operations.
The assignment
You perform the following tasks
Development of formulations and deposition of them on flexible/fixed substrates using for example spin or dip coating. In a later instance, other deposition techniques can be considered, for example spray coating.
You check the stabilization of the formulation and verify the correct thermal treatment during the drying of the wet coating.
Experience with physical characterization is a plus (e.g. optical and/or electronic microscopy).
Required knowledge and skills
You are an industrial engineer or have a bachelor's degree in chemistry with work experience in the deposition of wet coatings;
You can work accurately and organized, and enjoy working in a team and under the guidance of senior researchers/engineers;
You have experience with optimizing chemical formulations, preferably also with handling air-sensitive reagents (e.g. working in glove boxes);
You have experience in implementing clean and reproducible procedures;
Experience with electron microscopy characterization and with wet coating techniques is an asset.
