Memory Characterization Researcher (2y) 

What you will do

Over the recent years imec has developed to a mature level a broad portfolio of memory device technologies (Flash, phase-change, resistive-switching, ferroelectric, magnetic RAM, etc.). To further strengthen the memory characterization team, we are looking for a researcher with solid technical skills in electrical testing as well as experience and good knowledge in at least one these above-mentioned memory technologies. 
This position will be responsible for benchmarking various memory technologies from the viewpoint of specific applications satisfying stringent security specs. The position will therefore require high flexibility to adapt to different device physics and characterization methodologies, as well as a creative mindset to innovate on cell designs and/or testing algorithms in view of satisfying those specs. 
You will focus on: 

• Electrical characterization of various memory technologies at wafer level. 
• Based on data analysis and adapted protocols, selecting and developing further the promising technologies in view of application specs 
• Interacting closely in a project team with experts from the technology, modeling, circuit, system, and application background

Who you are

• You have a PhD degree or a few years of experience in the area of microelectronics, electrical engineering, applied physics, or a closely related discipline in academia or industry. 
• You have experience in memory technology and electrical testing. 
• You are eager to learn new technologies, new techniques, new skills. 
• You are able to work independently and as a team member. You act as a real team player towards your internal and external partners. 
• You have great communication skills since you will work in a multicultural environment. 
• You are able to solve problems independently, have a creative mindset and passion to innovate and develop novel devices.
