Imec Derivative Technologies department offers companies to develop and fabricate customized specialty microsystems that cannot be produced in standard CMOS technology. To achieve this, we have developed our own platforms to process various CMOS imagers – hyperspectral, backside illuminated, Quantum Dots on Silicon, Time of Flight, Single Photon Avalanche Diodes, and photonics chips. We have the freedom to tune our technology to the demands of our partners and develop advanced technology flows for prototypes / low-volume production as well as exploratory pixel / sensor architectures.

Image Sensor ROIC (Readout IC) Designer (temporary assignment)

The assignment 

  • Architecture study and Design of innovative image sensor;
  • Defining important performance metrics for the image sensor pixel, and ROIC;
  • Designing advanced pixel and ROIC according to internal or external specifications;
  • Characterization and analysis of the designed image sensor;
  • Collaborate with specialists from our cross-disciplinary design and technology teams.

Required knowledge and skills

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role or PhD degree;
  • Understanding of SoA image sensor architecture;
  • Excellent insight in analog circuit design is an absolute must, preferably in on-chip image signal processing by high-performance ADC’s;
  • You are fluent with Cadence design flows;
  • Strong organization & planning skills;
  • Fluency in English.
