Assay Developer (Consultant)

We are looking for a (Junior) IVD Assay Developer, for the development of a radically innovative testing solution for airborne infectious diseases, such as SARS-CoV-2. This includes performing novel assay characterization, planning, data analysis, reporting and problem solving. The experience that we are looking for includes molecular biology methods, protein characterization, protein purification and Good Documentation Practice. He/she will review and use scientific literature to design experimental work and will pro-active interact with the project team to present and discuss relevant data to steer and streamline further development steps. Assay Developer (Consultant)
The assignment
- Support development of IVD assays and verify the performance in compliance with ISO requirements.
- Interface with external vendors for selection and qualification of components and/or procurement of customized parts.
- Maintain laboratory infrastructure, equipment, reagents and consumables.
- Quickly adapt to new schedules and projects requirements.
- Ensure a safe laboratory environment and GLP.
Required knowledge and skills
- You have a master’s degree in biological sciences with limited work experience or you are a recent PhD graduate, or similar by experience.
- You are knowledgeable in PCR or immuno technology and applications.
- You have a hands-on and problem solving attitude.
- A team player with good communication skills and fluent in English.
- Immediate availability to come and work at the Imec facilities in Leuven is a strong bonus.
