Workshop on Signal Processing Systems 2001

Antwerp, Belgium, September 26-28, 2001

This website was constructed to support the 2001 Workshop on Signal Processing Systems. We have removed all expired information, retaining links to slides of most of the invited talks (below).

The objective of this workshop was to provide a forum for discussion of new developments, progress, and innovations in the design and implementation of multi-media and telecom oriented digital signal processing systems. It addressed all aspects of design and design methods of those systems. The theme that was of special interest in 2001 was "wireless and portable systems". Emphasis was on current and future challenges in research and development in both academia and industry.

These are the slides of most of the invited talks:

Helmut Boelcskei, Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA
DSP Challenges in MIMO Wireless Communications
(download)

Heinrich Meyr, Aachen Univ. of Technology, Germany
Why we need all these MIPS in future wireless Communication Systems
(download )

Frederic Noraz, Texas Instruments, Nice, France
Higher Performance and Lower Power Enhancements to VLIW Architectures
( download )

Christian Hentschel, Philips Research, The Netherlands
Multimedia QoS in Consumer Terminals
( download )

Keshab Parhi, U.Minnesota, USA
Low-Power DSP Components for Multimedia Communications
( download )

All regular and short presentations, and invited papers of the 2001 IEEE Workshop on SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEMS have been included in the Proceedings published by IEEE as a hard cover regular size book (ISBN 0-7803-7145-3).

Co-sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and IEEE Signal Processing Society
