Integrated Microsystem for the Magnetic Isolation and
Analysis of Single Circulating Tumour Cells for Oncology Diagnostics and
Therapy Follow-up

The overall objective of MASCOT is to develop an integrated microsystem (μTAS) for the immunomagnetic isolation/enrichment and RNA/DNA characterisation of circulating tumour cells (CTCs), to be used as a minimally-invasive tool for the early, primary diagnosis of cancer, for cancer therapy monitoring and for the detection of recurrent disease.
